Privacy Commitment Summary: Katib is built with zero-trust privacy architecture. We do NOT record, upload, store, or transmit your microphone recordings, system audio, or transcribed text to any remote cloud servers. Speech recognition runs 100% locally on your Mac hardware.

2. Data Collection and Usage
A. macOS Application
- On-Device Speech Processing: Katib captures audio through macOS ScreenCaptureKit and your microphone strictly for real-time transcription on your local device. Inference is performed entirely on your Apple Silicon / Intel CPU using the open-source SenseVoice model. Audio data is discarded from memory immediately after decoding.
- No Audio Cloud Upload: Your voice and system audio never leave your device. We operate zero cloud transcription backends.
- Local Subtitle History: If you choose to export transcripts or save session notes, files are saved locally on your device. You maintain full ownership and control of your files.
- No Telemetry / No Tracking: Katib does not collect user analytics, tracking cookies, or telemetry identifiers.
B. Website & Storefront
- Website Analytics: We use privacy-first Cloudflare Web Analytics which does not collect personal identifiers or track across websites.
- Purchases & Payments: We never collect or store your payment details. All purchases are handled securely by our Merchant of Record, Creem.io, in compliance with PCI-DSS standards.
3. Third-Party Services
- Creem.io: Our online merchant of record and payment processor (creem.io/privacy).
- Cloudflare: Provides DNS and SSL infrastructure for our official domain.
